KENTUCKY BOURBON TRAIL® LAUNCHES NEW WEBSITE
November 16, 2009
FRANKFORT, Ky. – The world-famous Kentucky Bourbon Trail® today introduced a redesigned website featuring turn-by-turn directions to its eight legendary distilleries and up-to-date information on the latest news and events.
The site is http://www.kybourbontrail.com.
“It’s now easier than ever to plan a trip to the Kentucky Bourbon Trail and the world’s only true Bourbon experience,” said Eric Gregory, president of the Kentucky Distillers’ Association. “Everything a visitor needs is right here – from directions to tour times to special events.”
Gregory said the upgrade was designed to be more user-friendly, while still capturing the essence and heritage of Kentucky’s signature spirit. A recent survey of people who have completed the Kentucky Bourbon Trail found the desire for directions and more information.
An impressive new feature is the “drag and drop” directions. Visitors can drag barrel-shaped icons representing each distillery into the order that they want to tour. The site will then generate a printed sheet with turn-by-turn directions to and from each distillery in that order.
The news and events section highlights special and seasonal programs, along with the latest bulletins from the KDA and the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. There are also links for food and accommodations in the historic communities along the way.
Additional new items include downloadable versions of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail brochure and passport, a “frequently asked questions” page and clickable icons for each distillery that link to tour and contact information. The site was created by The Vimarc Group in Louisville.
“We’re excited about today’s launch and are looking forward to adding more features and attractions in the coming months,” Gregory said. “It takes years to craft the world’s finest Bourbon, but technology moves at a pretty fast pace. We hope everyone checks back often.”
The KDA, organized in 1880, represents the state’s distillers that produce 95 percent of the world’s Bourbon: Beam Global Spirits & Wine (Jim Beam and Maker’s Mark), Brown-Forman, Diageo North America, Four Roses, Heaven Hill, Sazerac/Buffalo Trace and Wild Turkey.
The Kentucky Bourbon Trail® features eight legendary distilleries, each offering a unique and educational experience on the art and craft of Bourbon-making: Buffalo Trace, Four Roses, Heaven Hill, Jim Beam, Maker’s Mark, Tom Moore, Wild Turkey and Woodford Reserve.
