The Old Pogue Distillery is located just west of charming downtown Maysville, where six generations of the Pogue family have proudly produced Bourbon and rye whiskies using time-honored family recipes. The distillery is situated on the southern bluff of the Ohio River Valley alongside the historic 1845 Pogue family home. The Pogue Family Homestead, which serves as the distillery’s offices, displays many original pre-Prohibition artifacts and is on the National Register of Historic Places. Old Pogue Distillery recommends scheduling a visit online in advance.

As Distilled Spirits Plant-KY-3 (DSP-KY-3), Old Pogue is Kentucky’s third Registered Distillery in its district. Established in the 1800s, Old Pogue is located in Maysville, which is known as the “birthplace of Bourbon”.

Grandma’s Cough Syrup

Ingredients

2 ounces Old Maysville Club

8 ounces Hot Water

1 Tea Bag (Black Tea)

1/2 ounce Honey

1 Lemon

 

Instructions/Notes

Pour hot water into mug and steep tea bag for two to three minutes. Remove tea bag, and add honey, juice of lemon and Old Maysville Club. Stir.
