Join Bardstown Bourbon Company at the 3rd Annual Kentucky Bourbon Festival Bourbon Pairing Dinner at the Levee Bourbon Bar on May 3. Last year’s sold-out Derby-week dinner returns this year, presented by the Kentucky Bourbon Festival and Schaefer Construction. Enjoy an evening of camaraderie, bourbon, cuisine, and views of the Ohio River and the Kentucky Derby Festival's Great Steamboat Race. Bardstown Bourbon Company’s Dan Callaway will guide guests through a tasting experience of the distillery’s whiskeys, including Discovery Series, Origin Series Bourbon, Origin Series Rye and Origin Series Wheated Bottled-in-Bond. Guests will also enjoy a welcome cocktail, dinner cocktail and dessert cocktail in addition to the flight of four neat bourbon pours. The four-course dinner will be crafted by Chef John Varanese, chef and owner of the Levee Bourbon Lounge. Varanese settled in Louisville because of its appreciation for and success of the independent dining scene. Varanese is known for his culturally diverse and creatively curated menus, along with his dedication to incorporating local food to provide fresh and signature dishes. Doors open at 5:30 pm. The dinner takes place from 6:00 to 9:30 p.m. The menu for the event includes: WELCOME COCKTAIL AND PASSED APPETIZERS Broadbent Country Ham on house-made Cracked Black Pepper Biscuit served with, Kenny’s Farmhouse Awe Brie Cheese, and Bardstown Bourbon Honey Bacon Wrapped Diver Scallop Old Fashioned Grilled Flat Bread topped with roasted zucchini, red bell peppers, yellow squash and eggplant garnished with black lava sea salt and extra virgin olive oil SALAD Zesty arugula salad tossed with white asparagus, cucumbers, fried quinoa fresh strawberries and watermelon then finished with a strawberry bourbon vinaigrette DINNER 45 Day Dry-Aged Ribeye served atop whipped Peruvian Purple potatoes, a rich bourbon caramelized onion ragu and garnished with charred scallion and Roma tomato DESSERT House made carrot cake with sorghum cream cheese frosting topped with bourbon caramel and spiced candied pecans FEATURED BARDSTOWN BOURBON COMPANY FLIGHT Discovery Series Origin Series Bourbon Origin Series Rye Origin Series Wheated Bottled-in-Bond We will also serve three cocktails, a welcome cocktail, dinner cocktail and dessert cocktail – in addition to the flight of four (4) neat bourbon pours.
