Makers of Kentucky Bourbon and Kentucky Rye Whiskey, the Willett Distillery was established in 1936. Eighty years and five generations later, the Kulsveen family continues to make whiskey from their perch atop the highest point in Nelson County. The Willett portfolio includes Willett Pot Still Reserve, Noah’s Mill, Rowan’s Creek, Pure Kentucky, Kentucky Vintage, Johnny Drum, Old Bardstown collections and the Willett Family Estate.
From underground, spring-fed lakes to the Kentucky split-face limestone exterior, the distillery grounds are truly unique – and The Bar at Willett is no exception. Enjoy vintage pours, classic cocktails and small plates inspired by family heritage.
Ingredients
1 ounce Willett Family Estate Rye
1 ounce Baardseth Cognac
1 bar spoon Simple Syrup
3 dashes Peychaud’s® Bitters
1 dash Angostura® Bitters
Absinthe rinse and Lemon Twist to garnish
Instructions/Notes
Chill 5-ounce glass. Rinse with absinthe. Stir ingredients, pour neat into chilled glass, and garnish with lemon.

Under Kentucky law, visitors can purchase up to 9 liters per customer, per day at distillery gift shops. Options to ship product back to your home may be available. Please consult with each distillery and know that your state laws might prohibit shipping.
While each distillery tour is unique, plan on spending at least an hour and a half at each to tour, taste, and visit the gift shop. Many distilleries offer extended and abbreviated tours in addition to a standard one hour tour. While there are no admission fees to visit your favorite distilleries, all distilleries charge a fee for their tours. Some distilleries have abbreviated or extended specialty tours that vary in cost.
