Dark Arts Whiskey House is the home of their blending and finishing operation, located in the heart of Lexington’s Distillery District. Inside, guests can explore a curated portfolio of Bourbon and rye, ranging from core expressions to rare single barrels and limited releases available only within the House. Their approach centers on transformation—finishing and rebarreling whiskey in a variety of wine and spirit casks, such as Port, Sherry, Armagnac, and Madeira, or shaping flavor through wood finishes like Toasted French Oak, American Oak, Mizunara, and Amburana. Every bottle reflects the alchemy of time and intention, and every visit invites guests to witness that transformation firsthand.

In a mixing glass, add the ingredients and ice and stir for 12 seconds. Strain into coupe glass (or a rocks glass with a large cube depending on preference). Garnish with two cherries and enjoy!
Yes. We do distill a limited amount of our own product. However, we are primarily a blending, re-barreling, and finishing house…not a traditional distillery. We procure high-quality whiskey, then apply our alchemical techniques: unique wood finishing staves or re barreling into wine and spirit casks to create bold flavors. We defy convention and prioritize taste, elevating the role of the master blender to savant.
Our finishes range from wood staves sourced from around the world, such as Toasted French Oak, Japanese Mizunara Oak, and South American Amburana Oak, as well as unique wine and spirit casks like Armagnac, Cognac, Madeira, and many more. Each one imparts its own distinct character and depth.
You don’t need a reservation to enter the House, but we strongly recommend it if you’re in search of a guided experience to ensure accommodation. Walk-ins are welcome whenever space allows, but to guarantee the full experience, reservations are recommended. Our bar is also available for walk-in pours, flights, or cocktail orders. Booking at least a few days in advance is ideal, but reservations close 24 hours prior to the experience. Group, corporate, or private barrel sessions: We recommend two weeks or more to secure your preferred time.
Our typical hours are: Wednesday–Thursday: 10 AM–6 PM; Friday–Saturday: 10 AM–9 PM; Sunday, 11 AM–6 PM.

Guests must be 21+ to participate in tastings, experiences, or to enjoy cocktails. Visitors under 21 are welcome in the retail space when accompanied by an adult but cannot visit the bar, taste, or purchase alcohol.
