Bourbon’s Greatest Journey

When J.W. McCulloch opened his Green River Distilling Company in 1885, he didn’t set out to make history. He just wanted to make Bourbon. Since then, Green River has gone on to receive international and national acclaim for its whiskey. The distillery has endured fire, Prohibition and a period of decline to reemerge as it stands today, with the restored Distilled Spirits Plant Kentucky #10 (DSP-KY-10) producing exquisite Kentucky Bourbon and rye.

Located just west of the Adairville Square sits B.H. James Distillers in the old Adairville Fire Station (originally the Oldham’s Sausage factory). Opened in 2022 by fifth generation Adairville resident Shawn McCormick, the distillery and its award-winning Burton James® Whiskey and Bourbon are named as an homage to his great-grandfather who played professional baseball from 1908-1919. The local corn, rye, and barley grown in the fields surrounding Adairville are used to distill their Kentucky Grit® Whiskeys. The premium James Lake® Vodkas complete the full line up of award winning spirits.

The Bard Distillery may be young, but it has deep roots. Set in the bones of a beautiful 1920’s school site, the distillery watches over the historic coal-mining town of Graham, in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky. Operations started in December 2019, and the distillery already has a stable of prestigious award-winning spirits, including Cinder & Smoke Bourbon and their line of Muhlenberg Whiskeys and Liqueurs. Founders Thomas & Kim Bard have a unique history: both worked for years in NASCAR (Kim was a driver), and Thomas, an engineer, attended school on the site that is now home to the distillery.

Founded in 2014 with a focus on authenticity and tradition, Casey Jones Distillery offers one of the most incredible experiences on the Trail™ with daily tours and over 20 award-winning craft Bourbons, barrel cuts, and shines to taste. The distillery is nestled on a picturesque 74-acre farmstead in the rolling hills of Western Kentucky and its recent $2M expansion is paving the way to becoming the premier craft producer in the region. Founded in 2009 by husband-and-wife team Paul and Merry Beth Tomaszewski, MB Roland Distillery is nestled amongst the rolling farmland of Western KY. They use local white corn in each of their unique Bourbons and whiskeys, which are still and barrel proof, with no water added after distillation. This produces a full-flavored, full-bodied spirit that is reminiscent of a pre-Prohibition style of whiskey. They have a range of spirits to enjoy, from their Kentucky Straight Bourbon whiskey to their Kentucky Pink Lemonade.
