This is where the fun begins.

Have you enjoyed a few smoked Old-Fashioned and want to try making your own? Now is your chance. You'll sample the three mashbills and you select your favorite and make a smoked Old-Fashioned. The experience will cover the effect smoking has on a cocktail. Making simple syrup is also part of the class. Guests will leave with a cocktail glass and a small bag of their favorite type of wood chips to continue to experiment.

Guests receive a Wilderness Trail Distillery logo Glencairn as their souvenir when they visit Thursday through Saturday. The tour highlights the science behind spirit making through their signature sweet mash fermentation process. Tastings are offered at the tour's conclusion. Tours begin in the visitors center and cover fermentation, distillation and a discussion of barrel aging in the barrelhouse.

Maybe you would like to select your personal favorite from four samples of barrel proof wheated Bourbon, high-rye Bourbon or rye whiskey but you don't need the quantity that a whole barrel yields. Family Tree members will have the opportunity to make their selection and purchase a quarter, half, or whole barrel. You will leave with your bottles on the day of the pick. Please indicate which mashbill you prefer and the number of people in your group. Up to six people are allowed to attend.

The Barrel Thieving Experience invites guests into Dark Arts Whiskey House’s barrel room to explore rare single barrels selected by Chief Alchemist Macaulay Minton. Surrounded by barrel expressions aged 5–13 years, guests choose four ½-oz pours to thief straight from the cask, each offering a unique story shaped by time, oak, and finishing. Guided by a Spirit Guide, every tasting path is personal and distinct. For those who feel a barrel call to them, an optional bottle-your-own ritual completes the journey.

The Alchemical Journey is Dark Arts Whiskey House’s signature 30-45 minute guided tasting, leading guests through an elemental exploration of Earth, Water, Air, and Fire. Blending sensory immersion with historical storytelling transforms a traditional tasting into a ritual of discovery. Guests sample four ½-oz pours aligned with each element, each accompanied by a small, guided ritual that highlights its character and invites a brief moment of quiet alchemy and reflection. Designed for both newcomers and connoisseurs, the experience invites a deeper connection to whiskey and the craft.

An intimate, upscale environment, Fresh’s Bourbon Tasting Room is built for males and females alike to come explore and find their own taste in Bourbon. Starting with a Sensory Experience of both Taste and Aroma pairings, each guest will break down the flavors and aromas that live within Bourbon. Then, guests will create their own customized Old-Fashioned from the ground up, becoming true Kentucky Mixologists. Finishing with a craft cocktail, directly from the end house cocktail list. Schedule an interactive tour of Hartfield & Co. Distillery. On this tour, guests will get an up-close look at how Bourbon Whiskey is made. From mashing, to fermentation to distillation and aging, this tour gives an in-depth look at the entire production process. The tour ends with the option of tasting current Hartfield & Co. products.
