Located across the Ohio River from Cincinnati, New Riff Distilling is an independent, family-owned distillery founded in 2014 in Newport, KY. They are a New Riff on an Old Tradition, that tradition being Kentucky sourmash whiskey making. New Riff produces award-winning Bourbon, Rye, Gin, and Single Malt whiskey, all crafted with a commitment to quality and transparency. The Aquifer Tasting Room, located on the third floor of the distillery, features cocktails, flights, and pours of New Riff’s award-winning spirits, including rare, limited-edition, and exclusive releases.

Ingredients

2 ounces New Riff Bourbon

1/2 ounce Pecan Simple Syrup* 

2 dashes Fee Bros. Plum Bitters 

1 Plum

 

Instructions/Notes

Add all ingredients with ice into mixing glass. Stir until chilled and strain into fresh rocks glass with ice. Garnish with plum soaked in Luxardo cherry juice; with metal cocktail stick, skewer plum and lay on angle across glass.

* Toast pecans. Chop finely in blender. Mix equal parts sugar and water, simmer with pecans until sugar dissolves. Add a bit of molasses for richness. Strain.
