Preservation Distillery, a 40-acre historic tobacco farm is aging some of Kentucky’s most prized vintage barrels. This pot-distilling craft producer is family-owned, with many passionate decades in the Bourbon industry. Preservation is Kentucky’s first sustainability-focused distillery, raising Bluegrass Longhorn cattle and insisting on their farm’s limestone water source, and the highest quality local ingredients. Brands include: Very Olde St. Nick, Pure Antique, Rare Perfection, and Wattie Boone.
Taste and purchase 1-3 barrel batch rare vintage bottles at their reclaimed barnwood bar and gift shop, or just relax and sip whiskey on the patio overlooking Preservation’s pastoral farm.
Ingredients
2 ounces Wattie Boone Whiskey
1/2 ounce Agave or other nectar
5-6 Bruised Mint Leaves
1/2 ounce Fresh Lemon Juice
Lemon Wheel and Mint Sprig to garnish

Shake all ingredients with ice. Strain into rocks glass over ice. Garnish with lemon wheel and fresh mint sprig.
All distilleries offer a tasting at the end of their standard tour. Some offer tasting-only experiences as well. But remember, slow down, savor your experiences and drink responsibly.
Under Kentucky law, visitors can purchase up to 9 liters per customer, per day at distillery gift shops. Options to ship product back to your home may be available. Please consult with each distillery and know that your state laws might prohibit shipping.
While each distillery tour is unique, plan on spending at least an hour and a half at each to tour, taste, and visit the gift shop. Many distilleries offer extended and abbreviated tours in addition to a standard one hour tour. While there are no admission fees to visit your favorite distilleries, all distilleries charge a fee for their tours. Some distilleries have abbreviated or extended specialty tours that vary in cost.
